1995 and later model vehicles need an OBDII scanner to retrieve the diagnostic codes. AutoZone and other parts stores usually will scan free of charge if the check engine light is on.
mazda 323 wire harness color codes
yes, and what codes are you asking about "check engine" or anti lock radio codes?
If it has the 4.0 liter V6 engine there are ( 6 engine cylinders ) If it has the 5.0 liter V8 engine there are ( 8 engine cylinders )
You will need a engine scanner to scan the engine. Some parts stores will do this for free.
I'm not a mechanic / technician but I believe the answer is ( no ) From what I have read there are ( 3 ) different engine blocks for the Ford 4.0 OHV engine ( 1991 to 1994 Ford Explorer ) ( 1995 and 1996 Ford Explorer ) ( 1997 to 2000 Ford Explorer )
on the passenger side of the engine , straight up and down
( 6 ) for the 4.0 liter V6 engine and ( 8 ) for the 5.0 liter V8 engine
On a 1996 Ford Explorer ( that has the 4.0 L EFI V6 engine ) the EGR valve is located on the drivers side of the engine beside the engine oil dipstick ( it is lower down and has a round top on it )
On the 4.0 liter OHV , V6 engine the starter is on the drivers side of the engine , low down , where the engine is connected to the transmission
It is either a 4.0 liter v6 or a 5.0 liter v8
Wherever the fuel filter on a 96 ford explorer is
4 ======================================================= The above answer is correct if you have the 5.0 liter V8 engine in your 1996 Ford Explorer , but if you have the 4.0 liter EFI , V6 engine ( VIN " X " ) there are ( 3 oxygen sensors )
